Job Description

Job Summary

Cruise Ship Jobs is seeking an energetic, creative, and service-focused Activity Coordinator to join our onboard hospitality and entertainment team. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and delivering engaging recreational activities, social events, and entertainment programs for guests of all ages. The ideal candidate will have a passion for customer service, event coordination, and creating memorable guest experiences in a dynamic cruise ship environment.

As an Activity Coordinator, you will play a key role in ensuring guests enjoy a vibrant, fun-filled, and welcoming atmosphere throughout their voyage. Your creativity, enthusiasm, and ability to connect with diverse groups of people will contribute significantly to guest satisfaction and overall onboard experience.


Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and host daily onboard activities including games, contests, workshops, sports activities, trivia sessions, dance classes, and themed events.
  • Coordinate guest engagement programs designed for families, children, teens, adults, and senior travelers.
  • Serve as a host or master of ceremonies during entertainment events, social gatherings, and onboard celebrations.
  • Encourage guest participation and maintain high levels of enthusiasm during all activities.
  • Collaborate with the entertainment, hospitality, youth, and guest services teams to create innovative programming.
  • Assist in organizing holiday events, cultural celebrations, and special themed nights.
  • Prepare event materials, equipment, decorations, and activity supplies before each session.
  • Ensure all activities comply with onboard safety regulations and operational guidelines.
  • Gather guest feedback and recommend improvements for future programs.
  • Promote upcoming activities through announcements, guest interactions, and onboard communication channels.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records and event performance reports.
  • Address guest inquiries professionally and resolve minor concerns promptly.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; diploma or degree in Hospitality, Event Management, Tourism, Recreation, or related field preferred.
  • Excellent verbal communication and public speaking skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to lead groups and engage guests with confidence and enthusiasm.
  • Professional appearance and positive attitude.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural team environment.
  • Basic computer skills for scheduling, reporting, and event planning.
  • Fluency in English is required; additional languages are highly valued.
  • CPR, First Aid, or guest safety training is considered an advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in event coordination, entertainment, hospitality, recreation, tourism, or guest services.
  • Previous cruise ship, resort, hotel, or recreation center experience is highly preferred.
  • Experience in hosting live events, group activities, or public presentations is an advantage.

Working Hours

  • Flexible schedule based on ship operations and guest activities.
  • Typically 8–11 hours per day with rotating shifts.
  • Includes weekdays, weekends, holidays, and evening events.
  • Contract durations typically range from 4–8 months onboard.

  • Strong understanding of guest entertainment and customer engagement principles.
  • Ability to create fun, inclusive, and memorable experiences for diverse audiences.
  • Confidence in public speaking and stage presence.
  • Ability to handle unexpected situations calmly and professionally.
  • Creative problem-solving and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of event planning, scheduling, and activity coordination.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining strong team collaboration.
  • Physical stamina to stand, move, and interact actively throughout the day.
