Job Summary

The Bar Utility Staff plays a vital support role within the cruise ship beverage operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service across all bar areas. This position is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, restocking supplies, and assisting bartenders in delivering high-quality guest experiences. The ideal candidate is energetic, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment at sea.

Key Responsibilities

Assist bartenders in daily beverage service operations
Restock bar inventory including beverages, glassware, ice, and consumables
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in all bar and service areas
Collect and dispose of used glassware, bottles, and waste properly
Support setup and breakdown of bar stations before and after shifts
Ensure compliance with onboard safety and sanitation regulations
Assist in inventory checks and stock rotation (FIFO method)
Provide prompt support during peak service hours and special events
Report shortages, damages, or equipment issues to supervisors

Required Skills and Qualifications

Basic understanding of food and beverage service operations
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Ability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently
Physically fit and able to lift and carry heavy items
Positive attitude and customer-focused mindset
Basic English communication skills (additional languages are a plus)

Experience

Previous experience in hospitality, bar support, housekeeping, or catering preferred
Freshers with strong willingness to learn may also apply

Working Hours

Rotational shifts based on cruise schedules
Average 8–10 hours per day with breaks as per maritime standards
Work schedule includes weekends, holidays, and sea days

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

Knowledge of hygiene and safety standards in hospitality environments
Ability to work in confined spaces and dynamic shipboard conditions
Strong organizational and time management abilities
Ability to remain calm and efficient under pressure
Adaptability to multicultural work environments
Basic knowledge of bar equipment handling and storage practices
