Job Description

Job Summary

KidsFirst NGO is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Child Care NGO Worker to support the emotional, educational, and social development of children from vulnerable communities. The ideal candidate will work closely with children, families, schools, and community stakeholders to ensure child safety, welfare, and overall well-being. This role requires patience, empathy, excellent communication skills, and a strong commitment to child protection and community service.

The Child Care NGO Worker will be responsible for organizing child-centered programs, monitoring child welfare activities, conducting awareness sessions, and supporting rehabilitation and development initiatives. The position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children while contributing to sustainable community development programs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide daily care, emotional support, and guidance to children participating in NGO programs.
  • Monitor the health, safety, and well-being of children and report concerns promptly.
  • Conduct educational and recreational activities to promote learning and personal development.
  • Assist in planning and implementing child welfare and protection initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation related to child development activities.
  • Support children in improving social, communication, and life skills.
  • Coordinate with schools, healthcare providers, counselors, and local authorities when required.
  • Conduct community outreach and awareness programs regarding child rights and protection.
  • Help organize workshops, events, and fundraising activities for child welfare projects.
  • Ensure compliance with NGO policies, safeguarding standards, and ethical practices.
  • Provide counseling support and encouragement to children facing emotional or social challenges.
  • Participate in field visits, assessments, and community development activities.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Child Development, Sociology, Education, or a related field.
  • Certification or training in child care, counseling, or community development is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of child protection and welfare practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to interact compassionately with children from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic reporting tools.
  • High level of integrity, patience, and professionalism.

Experience

  • Minimum 1–3 years of experience in child care services, NGO operations, community outreach, or social work.
  • Experience working with vulnerable children, orphanages, shelters, or educational support programs is preferred.
  • Freshers with strong passion for child welfare and volunteering experience may also apply.

Working Hours

  • Full-time position.
  • Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend activities or field visits as required.
  • Flexible working hours based on program schedules and community events.

  • Knowledge of child rights, safeguarding principles, and social welfare policies.
  • Ability to manage sensitive situations with empathy and confidentiality.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to conduct training sessions and awareness programs effectively.
  • Good documentation and reporting capabilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple responsibilities efficiently.
