Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Solutions Architect (Azure) to join our remote Public Sector delivery team. In this role, you will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of secure, scalable, and resilient cloud architectures on Microsoft Azure for government and public sector clients. You will act as a trusted technical advisor, ensuring cloud solutions align with compliance standards, enterprise architecture principles, and mission-critical requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement end-to-end Azure cloud architectures for public sector workloads
Lead cloud migration strategies from on-premise and legacy systems to Azure
Define cloud governance frameworks including identity, security, and cost management
Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions
Ensure compliance with government security standards (e.g., data protection, audit controls)
Develop Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using tools such as ARM templates or Terraform
Optimize cloud performance, scalability, and cost efficiency
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams
Conduct architecture reviews and enforce best practices across cloud deployments
Support incident response and cloud resilience planning
Required Skills and Qualifications
Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure services (Compute, Networking, Storage, Security, DevOps)
Experience with cloud architecture design patterns (microservices, hybrid cloud, multi-region)
Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, ARM, Bicep)
Deep understanding of cloud security principles (Zero Trust, IAM, encryption standards)
Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, AKS)
Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions)
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Familiarity with public sector compliance frameworks is highly desirable
Experience
7–12 years in IT, with at least 4+ years in cloud architecture roles
Proven experience delivering large-scale Azure solutions in enterprise or government environments
Prior exposure to multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments is a plus
Working Hours
Fully remote position
Standard 40 hours per week (flexible schedule aligned with project needs and client time zones)
Occasional availability required for critical deployments or incident resolution

Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Ability to design secure, scalable, and highly available systems
Expertise in cloud cost optimization strategies
Excellent documentation and technical writing skills
Ability to lead technical discussions with both engineers and non-technical stakeholders
Strong adaptability in fast-paced, regulated environments
