Job Summary

OceanGlide Cruises is seeking a passionate and experienced Hospitality Skills Trainer to join our maritime training division. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing future cruise ship hospitality professionals for onboard service excellence, focusing on waitstaff operations, guest service standards, housekeeping procedures, and international hospitality protocols.

The ideal candidate will bring strong hospitality knowledge, training experience, and the ability to inspire learners from diverse backgrounds. This position plays a critical role in ensuring trainees are fully prepared to meet the high service expectations of the global cruise industry.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver structured training programs for cruise ship waitstaff, room attendants, stewards, and housekeeping assistants.
  • Conduct classroom sessions, practical demonstrations, role-play exercises, and hospitality simulations.
  • Train candidates on food service etiquette, table setup, guest communication, order-taking procedures, and service presentation.
  • Provide housekeeping instruction including cabin cleaning standards, sanitation protocols, laundry handling, and inventory control.
  • Assess trainee performance through practical evaluations, written tests, and live service demonstrations.
  • Develop training materials, manuals, assessments, and performance improvement plans.
  • Mentor trainees in professionalism, teamwork, confidence-building, and customer service excellence.
  • Ensure training content aligns with international cruise line standards and hospitality best practices.
  • Maintain accurate training records, attendance reports, and certification documentation.
  • Coordinate with recruitment and placement teams to prepare candidates for final interviews and onboard deployment.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, Tourism, or a related field.
  • Professional training certification in hospitality instruction or adult learning is an advantage.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Strong presentation and classroom management abilities.
  • Practical knowledge of food and beverage operations, housekeeping, and guest relations.
  • Ability to train individuals from multicultural backgrounds.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring capabilities.
  • High level of professionalism, patience, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and training documentation systems.

Experience

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in hospitality operations, cruise services, hotel operations, or training environments.
  • Previous experience as a trainer, supervisor, or hospitality instructor preferred.
  • Experience in luxury hotels, resorts, or cruise ship operations will be highly valued.
  • Experience managing practical training sessions and service assessments is desirable.

Working Hours

  • Full-time position.
  • 8 to 9 hours per day, 5 to 6 days per week.
  • Flexibility required for weekend training sessions, batch schedules, and practical workshops.
  • Occasional travel may be required for partner training centers or recruitment events.
