Job Summary
The Laundry Attendant is responsible for ensuring the efficient handling, cleaning, pressing, and distribution of guest and crew laundry onboard the cruise ship. This role plays a vital part in maintaining high standards of hygiene, presentation, and service quality across all guest and staff accommodations. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working in a fast-paced maritime environment while adhering to strict cleanliness and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities

Sort, wash, dry, iron, and fold guest and crew laundry according to established procedures

Operate industrial laundry machines safely and efficiently

Handle delicate fabrics and specialty garments with care

Ensure timely delivery of cleaned laundry to guest cabins and crew quarters

Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the laundry area at all times

Monitor and report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs

Properly label and track laundry items to avoid loss or mix-ups

Follow infection control and sanitation protocols onboard

Assist in inventory management of detergents, chemicals, and laundry supplies

Support housekeeping or galley teams when required during peak operations
Required Skills and Qualifications

Basic understanding of laundry operations and fabric care

Ability to operate industrial washing, drying, and ironing equipment

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Ability to follow instructions and standard operating procedures

Good physical stamina to handle long hours of standing and lifting

Experience

Previous experience in laundry services, housekeeping, or hospitality preferred

Cruise ship or hotel experience is an added advantage but not mandatory

Freshers with willingness to learn may also be considered
Working Hours

Rotational shifts onboard cruise operations

Typically 8–10 hours per day depending on sailing schedule

Must be flexible to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours during peak demand
