Job Summary
Johnson Controls is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Onsite HVAC Technician to join our facilities management team, supporting commercial building operations. This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems to ensure optimal performance, energy efficiency, and occupant comfort. The ideal candidate will have hands-on technical expertise, strong troubleshooting abilities, and a commitment to safety and service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on commercial HVAC systems including chillers, boilers, air handlers, and split systems.
- Diagnose system issues and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.
- Install and commission HVAC equipment in accordance with company and industry standards.
- Monitor building automation systems (BAS) and ensure efficient system operation.
- Maintain accurate service records, logs, and documentation for all maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with facility managers and other technicians to coordinate maintenance schedules.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental policies, and company procedures.
- Respond promptly to emergency service calls and resolve HVAC-related issues.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Diploma or certification in HVAC, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, components, and controls.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Proficiency in using HVAC diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Basic understanding of electrical and control systems.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Experience
- Minimum of 2–5 years of hands-on experience in HVAC maintenance and repair, preferably in commercial buildings.
- Experience working with building automation systems is an added advantage.
- Prior experience in facility management or service environments is preferred.
Working Hours
- Full-time, onsite role.
- Standard working hours with rotational shifts depending on facility requirements.
- Availability for on-call duties and emergency support during weekends or holidays as needed.
