Job Summary

Devstationery.com is seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and customer-focused Retail Stationery Assistant & Visual Merchandiser to support daily retail operations while creating visually appealing product displays that enhance the customer shopping experience. This role combines customer service, inventory support, merchandising execution, and brand presentation.

Key Responsibilities

Retail Operations

  • Assist customers in selecting stationery, office supplies, art materials, and gift products.
  • Provide product recommendations based on customer needs and preferences.
  • Handle billing, payments, refunds, and exchanges according to company policies.
  • Maintain cleanliness, orderliness, and overall presentation of the store.
  • Support opening and closing store procedures.

Visual Merchandising

  • Design and arrange product displays to maximize product visibility and sales.
  • Create seasonal, promotional, and theme-based displays.
  • Ensure product placement aligns with brand guidelines and merchandising strategies.
  • Update window displays and promotional sections regularly.
  • Monitor product presentation and make adjustments when necessary.

Inventory Management

  • Receive stock deliveries and verify product quantities.
  • Label, price, and arrange products accurately.
  • Conduct regular stock counts and inventory checks.
  • Report damaged, missing, or low-stock items to management.
  • Assist in replenishing shelves and maintaining product availability.

Customer Engagement

  • Build positive relationships with customers through excellent service.
  • Handle customer queries and concerns professionally.
  • Promote loyalty programs, special offers, and new product launches.
  • Collect customer feedback to improve service quality.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree, diploma, or equivalent qualification preferred.
  • Certification in retail management, merchandising, or design is an advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of retail operations and customer service practices.
  • Understanding of visual merchandising principles.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications and POS systems.
  • Strong communication skills in English; additional local language skills are beneficial.

Experience

  • 1โ€“3 years of experience in retail sales, merchandising, stationery sales, or related roles preferred.
  • Freshers with strong creativity, presentation skills, and customer service aptitude may also apply.
  • Experience in gift shops, bookstores, office supply stores, or lifestyle retail environments will be an added advantage.

Working Hours

  • Part-time or full-time opportunities available based on business requirements.
  • Flexible retail shift schedules, including weekends and holidays.
  • Typical shift duration: 6โ€“9 hours per day.
