Job Summary

FoodNest Eatery is seeking enthusiastic, customer-focused, and energetic individuals to join our restaurant team as a Waiter / Waitress. This role is ideal for candidates who enjoy working with people, delivering excellent customer service, and being part of a fast-paced hospitality environment. The successful candidate will play an important role in creating a welcoming dining experience by ensuring guests receive attentive, professional, and efficient service throughout their visit.

As a member of our front-of-house team, you will represent the values and service standards of FoodNest Eatery while helping to maintain a positive and memorable dining atmosphere for every guest.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome guests warmly and guide them to their assigned tables.
  • Present menus, explain daily specials, and provide recommendations based on customer preferences.
  • Accurately take food and beverage orders and communicate them clearly to kitchen staff.
  • Serve meals, beverages, and desserts in a professional and timely manner.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction during meals and promptly address service requests or concerns.
  • Process payments through cash, card, or digital payment systems accurately.
  • Set up dining tables before service and ensure tables are cleaned and reset after guests leave.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining areas, service stations, and restaurant facilities.
  • Work closely with kitchen staff, supervisors, and team members to ensure smooth service operations.
  • Follow food safety, hygiene, and company service standards at all times.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification preferred.
  • Previous hospitality or customer service training is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Friendly, professional, and approachable personality.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Basic numeracy skills for handling bills and payments.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional during busy service periods.
  • Basic understanding of food handling and hygiene practices.

Experience

  • Entry-level candidates are welcome to apply; training may be provided.
  • Previous experience in restaurants, cafés, hotels, or customer service roles is preferred.
  • Experience handling point-of-sale systems and guest interactions will be an added advantage.

Working Hours

  • Full-time and part-time positions available.
  • Flexible shift schedules including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Typical shifts may range from 6 to 10 hours depending on operational needs.
  • Overtime opportunities may be available during peak business periods.
