Job Description

Job Summary

SheRise Foundation is seeking a passionate, organized, and community-focused Women Empowerment NGO Coordinator to lead and support initiatives that improve the lives of women and girls through education, livelihood development, advocacy, healthcare awareness, and social welfare programs.

The ideal candidate will play a critical role in planning, implementing, and monitoring women empowerment projects while building strong relationships with community stakeholders, volunteers, donors, government agencies, and partner organizations. This role requires strong leadership abilities, compassion, excellent communication skills, and a deep commitment to gender equality and community development.

The Women Empowerment NGO Coordinator will oversee day-to-day operations of empowerment programs, coordinate outreach activities, manage reporting processes, and ensure that all projects align with the organization’s mission and objectives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage women empowerment projects and community outreach initiatives.
  • Develop and implement programs related to education, vocational training, financial literacy, healthcare awareness, and self-employment opportunities for women.
  • Conduct community meetings, workshops, seminars, and awareness campaigns.
  • Build partnerships with local organizations, educational institutions, healthcare providers, and government agencies.
  • Monitor project progress and prepare regular reports on activities, achievements, and challenges.
  • Assist in fundraising activities, donor engagement, and grant proposal preparation.
  • Supervise field staff, volunteers, and program assistants to ensure efficient program delivery.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, beneficiary records, and impact assessments.
  • Organize skill development sessions and leadership training programs for women beneficiaries.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, safeguarding standards, and ethical practices.
  • Support advocacy initiatives related to women’s rights, gender equality, and social inclusion.
  • Identify opportunities to expand community engagement and program reach.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Sociology, Women’s Studies, Community Development, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree is an added advantage.
  • Strong understanding of women empowerment issues, gender equality, and community development practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and project coordination abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse communities and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and reporting tools.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Ability to multitask and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Fluency in English is required; knowledge of regional languages is an advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience in NGO operations, community development, women empowerment programs, or social impact initiatives.
  • Experience in project coordination, field operations, or stakeholder management is preferred.
  • Previous experience working with donor-funded projects or nonprofit organizations is highly desirable.
  • Experience in conducting training sessions and community engagement activities will be considered an advantage.

Working Hours

  • Full-time position.
  • Standard working hours: Monday to Friday.
  • Occasional evening or weekend work may be required for community events, workshops, outreach programs, and field visits.
  • Flexible work arrangements may be available based on project requirements.

  • Ability to build trust and maintain positive community relationships.
  • Excellent presentation and public speaking skills.
  • Ability to analyze community needs and develop practical solutions.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multicultural environments.
  • Knowledge of nonprofit compliance, project management, and social impact evaluation.
  • High level of empathy, integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Adaptability and willingness to travel for field activities when required.
